Join us in recognizing STI Awareness Week, April 12-18! STI Awareness Week is observed during the second full week in April and provides an opportunity to raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Prevention, testing, and treatment are critical priorities to reduce the health impact of STIs. In observance of STI Awareness Week, we’ve included a list of resources to highlight the importance of sexual health testing and to support individuals and organizations in getting involved in the conversation.
CDC STI Awareness Week Campaigns
The Prepare Before You’re There campaign is designed to help individuals plan ahead and choose practical prevention steps that work best for them.
The Talk. Test. Treat. campaign encourages individuals and healthcare providers to take action to protect their own health, and the health of their partners and patients. Here, you’ll find resources to support STI care beyond traditional clinical settings.
The Get Yourself Tested (GYT) campaign encourages young people to get tested and seek treatment for STIs. Here, you’ll find curated materials designed to support and strengthen efforts around STI awareness and prevention.
National Coalition for Sexual Health STI Awareness Toolkit
For practical, evidence-based resources on STI prevention, testing, and communications with partners and healthcare providers, the National Coalition for Sexual Health is offering an STI Awareness Week Toolkit that features social media graphics, captions, and Quick Tips; three microsites; videos; toolkits; and conversation starters, including scripts, digital card decks, and more.
